Position Details Position Title: Boys’ Athletic Director Area of Assignment: St. Brendan Parish Gymnasium FLSA Status: Part‑time, non‑exempt Reports to: Pastor of St. Brendan Church Hours of Work: Based on Boys’ CYO Sports program schedule – limit 767 hours per year or approximately 18 hours per week Program Overview The St. Brendan athletic program is run by two athletic directors. This position manages the boys’ season, which includes five CYO sports a year: Fall (Cross Country, Soccer), Winter (Basketball), and Spring (Volleyball and Track & Field). There is also a Track and Field with PPSL (Peninsula Parochial Sports League) providing enhanced offerings. Responsibilities Make certain that all students are given fair and equal opportunity for sports participation Serve as contact person between leagues and St. Brendan School, including preparation of all paperwork and billing for league participation Coordinate all teams, coaches, and practice times for each sport, placing teams in tournament play when slots are available Distribute and maintain all uniforms and sports equipment for each season, purchasing new equipment/uniforms as needed Communicate all pertinent sports information to parents (games, practice schedules, league rules, etc.) and discuss issues at parents’ club meetings Resolve issues with coaches, parents, officials, and other schools; keep the pastor informed on a timely basis of all incidents with CYO and other league administrators Attend all athletic director meetings and training sessions for the various leagues Coordinate with gym/facility director about all sports activity at St. Brendan Gym and ensure gym schedule is given to kitchen director for the snack bar Hold meetings with coaches of all sports and help set up coaches’ thank‑you dinner in May Collaborate with the Pastor and Men’s Club Board regarding expenses and budget for each year and account for all expenditures and receipts for the school year Recruit and place all coaches, evaluate their performance and commitment annually, and support coaches regarding player behavior and commitment Other assignments as directed by the Pastor Compensation This part‑time position is compensated at the rate of $23.44 per hour with a maximum of 767 hours to stay within budget. The employee will be trained in payroll reporting. Other Requirements The successful candidate will complete Virtus training and Live Scan fingerprinting. They will be responsible for the protection of children at Saint Brendan’s parish in accordance with the child protection policies of the Archdiocese of San Francisco for all sports and activities sponsored by the CYO at home and away games.
