We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Medical Records Specialist to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing, organizing, and maintaining accurate medical records in compliance with healthcare regulations. This role is essential in ensuring the confidentiality, accessibility, and integrity of patient information, supporting efficient clinical operations and quality patient care.

Responsibilities

• Manage and organize patient medical records in electronic health record (EHR) systems with accuracy and efficiency.
• Retrieve, file, and update medical records as needed to support clinical staff and administrative functions.
• Ensure all medical documentation complies with HIPAA and other relevant privacy regulations.
• Assist with the scanning, indexing, and digitization of paper records into electronic systems.
• Verify the completeness and accuracy of medical records before filing or sharing.
• Collaborate with healthcare providers to ensure timely updates of patient information.
• Maintain confidentiality of all patient information at all times.
• Respond to internal requests for medical records in a professional and timely manner.

Qualifications

• Prior experience in a medical office or healthcare setting is preferred.
• Proficiency with Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems is required.
• Strong knowledge of medical terminology and medical record management practices.
• Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail.
• Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and confidentiality.
• Good communication skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
• High school diploma or equivalent; additional certification in health information management is a plus.
