Associate Broker, Construction and Infrastructure

Our Construction & Infrastructure Group is seeking a dynamic and experienced Associate Broker to join our Chicago C&I Brokerage team. This is a hybrid role with at least three days a week in the Chicago, IL office. Aon is in the business of better decisions. What the day will look like Collaborating with Brokers and Account Executives to develop coverage strategy and marketing initiatives for renewal and prospective business Analyzing client specific risk exposure and details coverage requirements; preparing and presenting marketing proposals for renewals and new business Establishing, and maintaining strong relationships with the underwriting community for the ultimate benefit of the client Negotiating with Underwriters for the best terms, conditions and competitive pricing for existing and new clients Verifying all policies and documentation for accuracy in accordance with terms and conditions Following up with insurer to confirm terms of negotiated contract are met Approving documentation for new contracts, policy changes, additions, deletions and renewals Leading by example by demonstrating and sharing the importance of best practices; Performing other related duties as assigned How this opportunity is different The successful candidate will join an experienced team with diverse backgrounds in account management, broking, claims advocacy, risk engineering, and specialty broking to deliver optimal client solutions. Skills and experience that will lead to success Proven negotiation and relationship building skills Excellent interpersonal, communication and presentation skills, both verbally and written Client focused and proven relationship building skills Ability to work collaboratively as a key member of a team and independently with minimum supervision Meticulous attention to detail, refined organizational skills and the ability to multi-task Proven ability to prioritize competing requirements and deadlines under pressure Must have strong computer skills and be proficient with the Microsoft Office Package Education: Bachelor’s degree in or equivalent years of industry experience. Brokers or P&C license preferred, or to be obtained within 90 days of start date For positions in San Francisco and Los Angeles, we will consider for employment qualified applicants with arrest and conviction record in accordance with local Fair Chance ordinances. Pay Transparency Laws The salary range for this position (intended for U.S. applicants) is $80,000 to $85,000 annually. The actual salary will vary based on applicant’s education, experience, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data. The salary may also be adjusted based on applicant’s geographic location.
