Blue Lake Casino & Hotel POSITION DESCRIPTION MANAGEMENT RETAINS THE RIGHT TO CHANGE JOB DESCRIPTION AS DEEMED NECESSARY Job Title: Dishwasher Department: F&B - Kitchen Reports To: Sous Chef/Lead Cook FLSAStatus: Non-Exempt Prepared By: Human Resource Manager Revised Date: May 13, 2013 Approved By: Casino Manager Approved: May 13, 2013 Position open until filled JOB SUMMARY Maintains kitchen work areas and restaurant equipment and utensils in clean and orderly condition by performing the following duties. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Scrapes food from dirty dishes and washes them by hand or places them in racks or on conveyor to dishwashing machine. Washes pots, pans, and trays. Sweeps and mops kitchen floors. Washes worktables, walls, refrigerators, and meat blocks. Segregates and removes trash and garbage and places it in designated containers. Cleans and sanitize garbage cans. Sorts silverware. Transfers supplies and equipment between storage and work areas. Keeps work area clean and free of clutter. Must wear black non-slip shoes or temporary non-slip shoe covers. Other duties may be assigned. QUALIFICATIONS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. LANGUAGE SKILLS Ability to read a limited number of two- and three-syllable words and to recognize similarities and differences between words and between series of numbers. Ability to print and speak simple sentences. MATHEMATICAL SKILLS Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance. REASONING ABILITY Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out simple one- or two-step instructions. Ability to deal with standardized situations with only occasional or no variables. CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS While employed, you must maintain a valid and active Blue Lake Tribal Gaming Commission License. OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES Familiar with sanitation standards for restaurants, preferred.
