About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and compassionate Registered Nurse to join a Medical-Surgical team in Red Bluff, CA. The RN will provide comprehensive nursing care to adult patients with a variety of medical and surgical conditions.

The ideal candidate will have strong assessment and clinical judgment skills, excellent communication abilities, and the ability to manage multiple patient care priorities in a fast-paced hospital environment.

Roles and Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care to Medical-Surgical patients throughout the shift.
• Perform comprehensive physical and clinical assessments.
• Monitor vital signs, pain levels, neurological status, oxygen saturation, and other relevant patient indicators.
• Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized patient care plans.
• Administer medications, IV therapies, treatments, and other interventions according to orders and facility policies.
• Monitor patients for changes in condition and promptly communicate concerns to physicians and the healthcare team.
• Manage IV lines, central lines, drains, catheters, wound care, and other medical devices as applicable.
• Review laboratory and diagnostic results and communicate significant findings appropriately.
• Assist with procedures, treatments, admissions, transfers, and discharge planning.
• Provide appropriate pain management and evaluate patient response to treatment.
• Monitor patients for potential complications and initiate appropriate nursing interventions.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic medical record.
• Collaborate with physicians, CNAs, respiratory therapists, technicians, and other healthcare professionals.
• Educate patients and families regarding medications, treatments, disease management, safety, and discharge instructions.
• Follow infection prevention, medication safety, patient identification, and fall prevention protocols.
• Respond appropriately to changes in patient condition and participate in emergency response when required.
• Maintain patient privacy and confidentiality.
• Provide safe, compassionate, and patient-centered care in accordance with professional nursing standards.

Qualifications

• Current and active RN license eligible for practice in California.
• Minimum 2 years of recent Registered Nurse experience.
• Previous Medical-Surgical or acute care experience required or strongly preferred.
• Strong patient assessment and clinical judgment skills.
• Experience with medication administration and IV therapy.
• Ability to recognize and respond to changes in patient condition.
• Strong communication, teamwork, and organizational skills.
• Ability to manage multiple patients and competing priorities effectively.
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced hospital environment.
• Willingness to work Night Shift on a 3×12 schedule.
• Required certifications should meet applicable facility requirements.
