M9 Solutions is seeking a Senior Firmware Engineer to work onsite in support of a government contract for a client located in Taunton, MA. An active Secret clearance is required. Responsibilities Apply principles and techniques of electrical engineering to develop, test, and implement electrical components, equipment, and systems. Participate in requirements analysis, design, integration, and verification processes, as well as support technical reviews and root cause analysis. Work within defined processes and collaborate with project leaders, program managers, and external customers. Design and implement bare-metal firmware in C for ARM Cortex-M and other microcontroller architectures. Develop drivers and low-level interfaces for peripherals including SPI, I2C, UART, GPIO, ADC, PWM, and timer modules. Profile and optimize code for performance, power consumption, and memory constraints. Work closely with hardware engineers, systems architects, and product teams to translate requirements into firmware solutions. Required Skills and Qualifications Active Secret security clearance. Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, or a related Science, Engineering, or Mathematics field, plus a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience; or Master's degree plus a minimum of 6 years of relevant experience. Ahead of technology trends with Research & Development (R&D) experience. Exceptional collaboration and communication skills with demonstrated success leading design teams for complex projects. Team player committed to ongoing professional development for self and others. Identifies opportunities to apply AI for continuous improvement and innovation. Use oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, debuggers (SWD, JTAG), and embedded testing frameworks to validate firmware functionality, preferred.
