SMT/AOI Machine OperatorThis full-time SMT/AOI Machine Operator role focuses on setting up, operating, and adjusting SMT and AOI equipment used in printed circuit board assembly (PCBA) manufacturing. You will work with minimal supervision to maintain high production quality, support technical programming for SMT processes, and ensure that all equipment runs within established manufacturing standards in a climate-controlled environment.ResponsibilitiesPerform equipment set-up, operation, and adjustment for products of varying complexity with minimal supervision.Coordinate with other team members to set up SMT machines according to documented set-up sheets.Operate Automated Optical Inspection (AOI) and Solder Paste Inspection (SPI) equipment, preferably Kohyoung systems, to detect defects such as soldering issues and misaligned components.Provide programming and technical support for SMT process equipment used in PCBA manufacturing, including marking, solder paste printing, solder paste inspection, pick-and-place machines (Fuji preferred), and reflow ovens.Ensure the board loader and feeders remain continuously loaded with the correct parts to support uninterrupted production.Prepare for upcoming production runs by loading feeders for the next job before they are needed.Monitor machine rejects on a daily basis to ensure defective parts are properly sorted and re-run as required.Maintain processes and equipment within acceptable company manufacturing standards and specifications.Perform quality auditing and testing activities to verify that assembled PCBs meet required quality criteria.Conduct basic machine troubleshooting to resolve operational issues and minimize downtime.Support electronic manufacturing and conformal coating processes as needed to meet production requirements.Essential SkillsHands-on experience with SMT production and machine operation in an electronic manufacturing or PCB assembly environment.Proficiency operating AOI and SPI equipment, preferably Kohyoung systems, for inspection of solder joints and component placement.Experience supporting SMT process equipment, including solder paste printers, pick-and-place machines (Fuji preferred), reflow ovens, and related PCBA manufacturing tools.Ability to read and follow SMT set-up sheets and production documentation accurately.Skill in performing basic machine troubleshooting and adjustments to maintain stable production.Familiarity with quality auditing and testing practices in electronic manufacturing.Knowledge of IPC-610 standards for electronic assembly quality.Experience working with conformal coating processes in PCB manufacturing.Attention to detail and strong focus on defect detection and process consistency.Ability to work effectively in a production team environment with minimal supervision.Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience as an SMT or AOI machine operator in a high-volume electronic manufacturing setting.Background in PCBA manufacturing and handling printed circuit boards (PCBs).Understanding of conformal coating applications and related production steps.Familiarity with continuous improvement practices in manufacturing environments.Availability for a long-term opportunity with potential for temp-to-hire employment.Why Work Here?You will join a stable, long-term opportunity in a modern manufacturing environment that values quality, teamwork, and continuous improvement. You will work on the production floor with SMT lines, AOI and SPI equipment, pick-and-place machines, reflow ovens, and related PCBA manufacturing tools. The role follows a full-time schedule as a permanent position, with a temp-to-hire arrangement indicated. The environment emphasizes adherence to manufacturing standards, safe equipment operation, and consistent production processes.Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Richardson, TX.Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $23.00 - $23.00/hr.
