Financial Analyst (Hybrid)

About the Role The Financial Analyst I is a key member of the Clinical Research Support (CRS) team, responsible for managing the financial operations of an assigned portfolio of clinical trials within the Oncology program. This role supports post-award financial management, sponsor invoicing, budget administration, billing coordination, financial reporting, and process improvement while collaborating with research teams to ensure the accurate financial management of mission-critical clinical studies. Location: Seattle, Washington, United States (Hybrid) Responsibilities Clinical Trial Financial Management Manage post-award financial activities for an assigned portfolio of clinical trials. Ensure study budgets are accurately entered into the Clinical Trial Management System (CTMS). Review Clinical Trial Agreements (CTAs) to support accurate financial management. Develop invoicing plans based on study payment terms. Monitor study financial performance throughout the trial lifecycle. Support financial operations for oncology clinical research programs. Sponsor Invoicing & Budget Administration Generate timely and accurate sponsor invoices. Maintain accurate tracking of sponsor payments and receivables. Review study budgets to ensure compliance with contractual agreements. Coordinate invoicing activities with study start-up teams. Verify that invoicing aligns with sponsor payment schedules. Financial Analysis & Reporting Analyze study financial data and invoice activity. Prepare financial reports for managers and research leadership. Monitor study receipts, invoices, and financial performance. Develop quality control checks to identify financial discrepancies early. Produce reports supporting operational and financial decision-making. Recommend improvements based on financial analysis. Clinical Research Operations Support Review Epic charts and financial documentation for billing accuracy. Utilize OnCore tools, including CRA Console, Subject Console, Financial Console, and Vendor Payables. Support Clinical Research Coordinators with visit tracking activities. Identify workflow issues affecting financial accuracy. Coordinate with billing offices to resolve financial and billing concerns. Review invoices from shared service departments to ensure billing accuracy. Partner with research teams, study coordinators, and finance professionals. Build strong relationships with investigators and operational stakeholders. Document lessons learned and recommend process improvements. Promote accurate financial workflows across clinical research operations. Support compliance with organizational financial policies. Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the Clinical Research Support team. Requirements Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience. Minimum of two years of clinical trials experience and/or financial operations experience, preferably within clinical trial financial operations. Strong attention to detail with a commitment to delivering high-quality work. Excellent interpersonal and relationship-building skills. Experience working with Clinical Trial Management Systems (CTMS). Experience with financial systems and Epic billing functions. Strong Microsoft Excel skills for financial tracking and reporting. Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities. Ability to manage multiple priorities in a collaborative environment. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Preferred Qualifications Experience using OnCore or another Clinical Trial Management System. Experience utilizing Epic or other patient billing and registration systems. Experience performing sponsor invoicing activities. Experience in clinical trial administration or study management. Experience working at a research institute, preferably within a cancer center.
