Senior Avionics Hardware Engineer

Salary: $148,000 - 222,000 per year Requirements:

• Bachelors or masters degree in aerospace engineering, electrical engineering, or a related technical field.
• At least 5 years of experience designing, developing, and delivering avionics or electronics for aerospace systems or similarly complex environments.
• Ability to take designs from concept through production with minimal supervision.
• Hands-on experience with schematic capture, PCB layout, embedded software interfaces, and system-level testing.
• Experience working across functions and communicating technical information clearly to diverse audiences.
• Ability to thrive in a collaborative, fast-paced team setting, with adaptability and strong problem-solving skills.
• Preferred: Technical experience with Mars missions, NASA aerospace systems engineering practices applied in a new-space context, deep-space or high-radiation avionics, or environmental testing and qualification of spaceflight hardware.

• Develop avionics systems from initial concept through flight qualification, including architecture, design, integration, and verification.
• Partner with propulsion, guidance and control, thermal, and software teams to integrate avionics and achieve system performance goals.
• Establish effective design and test processes to support reliability and safety on deep-space missions.
• Lead avionics hardware builds, including PCB design, harnessing, embedded systems, and environmental qualification.
• Coordinate component selection, testing, and delivery schedules with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
• Maintain accurate design documentation, test plans, and reports.
