About the Role
The Company is seeking an Executive Director of Development to join their team. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading a group of fundraising professionals, providing strategic direction, and overseeing the implementation and evaluation of major gift giving, capital campaigns, and events. This role involves maintaining a significant prospect portfolio, establishing effective relationships with various stakeholders, and ensuring the continuous improvement of fundraising efforts. The Executive Director will also be involved in the strategic planning and implementation of fundraising activities, coordinating with the prospect management system, and engaging in on-and off-campus university fundraising events. Applicants for the Executive Director of Development position at the company should have a Bachelor's degree and a minimum of 7 years' of successful professional development and/or fundraising-related experience. A Master's degree and experience in higher education are preferred. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in soliciting and closing six and seven-figure gifts, as well as the ability to lead a team and work collaboratively with peers in different areas of fundraising. Strong communication skills, a high level of initiative, and a deep understanding of the academic enterprise are essential. The role requires a candidate with unquestionable integrity, a commitment to professional ethics, and the ability to manage multiple projects under pressure. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and fundraising database programs is also necessary.
