Food Service Worker

North American Concessions in Chicago, IL is looking for Food Service Workers to join our team. Our ideal candidate is attentive, ambitious, and engaged. Responsibilities Aid cooks in preparing meals and plating food as requested by the chef or other supervising employee. Help cooks with food preparation duties for the day by cutting, peeling, or slicing as needed. Greet and take customer orders, remember special requests, and deliver food in a timely manner. Demonstrate excellent customer service with a positive demeanor when dealing with restaurant patrons, fielding all complaints promptly, answering questions, and making meal suggestions when asked. Assist with cleaning the restaurant and dining area by picking up trash, and wiping down tables and countertops as needed. Adhere to food safety standards at all times, making sure that all food is free of contaminants and pathogens that might make customers sick. Adhere to safety and sanitation standards at all times. Other duties as assigned Qualifications Excellent customer service skills and ability to deal with a variety of restaurant patrons Knowledge of kitchen sanitation, cleaning, and maintenance Must have a current/unexpired Food Handlers certificate Must have a current/unexpired Allergens Certificate Must be able to pass a background check processed by the Chicago Department of Aviation's badging division. Must be able to stand for long periods of time. Must have a positive attitude and to be able to get along with coworkers as well as guests. Must have Open Availability to work. Benefits at NorthAmerican Concessions Health Insurance, Dental Insurance and Vision Insurance are offered after employees pass their 90-day probationary period, and if elected, it will begin on the first day of the month following the passage of the probationary period. PTO (Paid Time Off): Employees will receive 80 hours of PTO after accruing a full year of full-time service. Employees are permitted to begin using accrued PTO time after they work a minimum of six (6) months. PTO will increase at the five (5) year mark and at the ten (10) year mark. Paid Sick Time : Employees receive 40 hours of Paid Sick Time per year and they are permitted to start using it after they pass their 90-day probationary period.
