Our team is composed of diverse professionals including Physical Therapists, Occupational Therapists, and Speech-Language Pathologists, who collaborate in a multidisciplinary approach to patient care. You will experience a dynamic workplace focused on teamwork and continuous improvement in patient outcomes.Key ResponsibilitiesAs a Physical Therapist Assistant at Next Horizon, your day-to-day responsibilities will include:Assisting Physical Therapists in the implementation of individualized treatment plans designed to enhance patients’ mobility, strength, and overall functionality.Guiding patients through therapeutic exercises, stretches, and a variety of activities aimed at alleviating pain and promoting physical wellness.Educating patients on proper body mechanics and exercise strategies, equipping them with home exercises that facilitate their recovery process.Administering therapeutic modalities such as electrical stimulation and ultrasound while under the supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist.Regularly monitoring patient progress, documenting key metrics such as range of motion and functional improvements.Preparing treatment areas by ensuring all necessary equipment and supplies are organized and accessible for therapy sessions.Collaborating closely with the interdisciplinary care team to ensure cohesive patient management and improved health outcomes.Providing empathetic emotional support to patients and nurturing a positive rehabilitation environment.Upholding professional standards, including patient confidentiality and ethical care.Patient Population / Client FocusYour interactions will span a diverse patient population ranging from pediatric to geriatric individuals, each facing unique physical challenges. You will work with patients recovering from surgeries, injuries, or chronic pain conditions, providing you with the opportunity to make meaningful impacts on their recovery trajectories.QualificationsTo be successful in this role, candidates must possess:An Associate degree from an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program.A valid state license or certification to practice as a Physical Therapist Assistant.A solid foundation in anatomy, physiology, and therapeutic interventions commonly utilized in physical therapy.Proficiency in the application of therapeutic exercises and modalities, guided by Physical Therapy protocols.Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with patients and collaborate with the healthcare team.A compassionate, patient-centered approach to care, reflecting a genuine commitment to helping patients achieve their goals.The ability to adapt treatment plans to accommodate varying patient needs and conditions.A keen attention to detail along with excellent organizational and time-management skills.A commitment to continuous professional development, staying updated with advancements in physical therapy practices.Preferred ExperienceWhile not mandatory, experience working in a rehabilitation setting and familiarity with specialized therapeutic practices will be greatly valued.
