We support their unique needs to provide quality and versatility in the design and production of all manufactured products.SummaryProduces machined parts, setting up, and operating a computer numerical control (CNC) machine; maintaining quality and safety standards; keeping records; maintaining equipment and supplies1st Shift - 4:00AM - 2:30PM2nd Shift Openings - 2:30PM - 10:30PMEssential Duties And ResponsibilitiesOperates mills and lathes by entering instructions, including zero and reference points; setting tool registers, offsets, compensation, and conditional switches; calculating requirements, including basic math, geometry, and trigonometry.Sets-up mills and lathes by installing and adjusting three- and four-jaw chucks, tools, attachments, collets, bushings, cams, gears, stops, and stock pushers; indicating vices; tramming headsProduce parts by studying work orders, blueprints, engineering plans, materials, specifications, orthographic drawings, reference planes, locations of surfaces, and machining parameters; interpreting geometric dimensions and tolerances (GD&T)Works with sheet metal and plasticsMaintains specifications by observing drilling, grooving, and cutting, including turning, facing, knurling and thread chasing operations; taking measurements; detecting malfunctions; troubleshooting processes; adjusting and reprogramming controls; sharpening and replacing worn tools; adhering to quality assurance procedures and processesInspects parts and change or correct process layouts for partsMaintains safe operations by adhering to OSHA safety procedures and regulationsMaintains equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements; following manufacturer's instructionsDocuments actions by completing production and quality logsOther duties as assignedIt is every employee's responsibility to be aware of and adhere to the applicable Safety & Health, Quality and Environmental Process of the Company.QualificationsHigh School diploma or GED required3 to 5 years of experience on CNC machines requiredMust be able to set up jobs on your ownMust be able to read blueprintsMust be able to work to close tolerancesMust have good mathematical skillsFormal apprenticeship desiredSkills And AbilitiesLive tooling experience preferredCNC Vertical Mills and Horizontal MillsLathe Setup experienceKnowledge of HAAS controlsExcellent verbal communication skillsFunctional and technical skillsConceptual SkillsAttention to DetailGood judgmentDemonstrates ability to solve problemsContributes to the creation of new solutionsWork Environment And Physical DemandsThe normal work environment is typical of a machine shop with many moving parts and is typically noisyAbility to stand for prolonged periods of timeThe incumbent is routinely required to stand (85% - 90% of the days is spent standing), walk, stoop, kneel, touch, see, and hear, and may be required to lift or move up to 35-50 pounds; over 50 pounds with assistanceSafety steel toed shoes are requiredWhile performing the regular duties of the position, the incumbent is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts, risk of electrical shock, and possible exposure to toxic or caustic chemicals.
