Experienced Legal Secretary - Personal Injury

Overview Our client, a respected personal injury law firm in Sacramento, is seeking an experienced Legal Secretary to join their team. The ideal candidate will be highly organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable supporting attorneys in all phases of personal injury litigation. Base pay range $70,000.00/yr - $90,000.00/yr Responsibilities Draft, proofread, and file legal documents, pleadings, and correspondence with courts and agencies Manage attorney calendars, schedule depositions, and coordinate client meetings and medical exams Prepare and serve subpoenas; update and maintain proof of service records Organize and maintain case files, including medical records, accident reports, and discovery materials Track and communicate deadlines, reminders, and statutes of limitations Assist with discovery, including document production and responses Prepare for trial by creating witness lists, drafting jury instructions, and organizing trial binders Communicate professionally with clients, insurance adjusters, medical providers, and court staff Support billing, timekeeping, and case expense tracking as needed Qualifications Prior experience as a legal secretary in personal injury law required Strong knowledge of discovery, court filing procedures, and trial preparation Proficient in calendaring, scheduling, and legal document management Excellent written and verbal communication skills High attention to detail, organization, and ability to manage multiple priorities Proficiency with legal software and Microsoft Office Suite Experience with WordPerfect, Outlook, and Adobe Acrobat required Ability to work in person in Sacramento, CA Benefits Healthcare and dental coverage 401(k) plan after eligibility period (safe harbor and discretionary contributions; no match) Performance-based bonuses 10 vacation days, 6 sick days, and 9–10 court holidays per year Firm closure from Christmas to New Year’s Day Seniority level Mid-Senior level Employment type Full-time Job function Legal and Administrative Industries: Legal Services and Law Practice #J-18808-Ljbffr SR Staffing
