Highway Maintenance TechnicianRoy Jorgensen Associates, Inc. is currently seeking full-time Highway Maintenance Technicians to work in the debris and litter crews and perform maintenance operations in the Houston, Texas area. This position requires performing a variety of tasks related to highway maintenance, debris removal, sign and guardrail repair, concrete repair, etc. as well as adherence to all applicable federal, state, and local regulations, as well as Jorgensen Company policies and procedures.Required Experience:Exposure to using shovels, weed trimming machinery, brooms, & various small hand toolsPreferred Experience:Roadway or guardrail maintenance experienceMOT Certifications (traffic control)Wheel Loader, Skidsteer, Fork Lift, Asphalt Roller, etc operatorClean driving record is essentialMust pass criminal background checkCDL License a plusQualifications:High School Diploma/GEDMaintain company standards for background checks (i.e. criminal record, driving record and controlled substance/drug testing)Knowledge of local driving rules and regulationsCarry out simple arithmetic functionsMaintain proper safety equipment required for each jobKnowledge and ability to adapt to the latest technologyAbility to use smart phone and applicationsAbility to adjust to changing work scheduleAbility to work safely under ranging environmental and weather conditionsCapable of lifting up to 50 pounds repeatedly while twisting; other strenuous manual labor may be requiredAbility to operate hand/power toolsSchedule: Full time; Day and night shifts available. Day shift is Monday - Friday. 7:30am - 4pm. Day shift, with some night and weekend work if needed. Occasional overtime available. Must be able to work weekends or emergency weather events. The minimum pay rate is $15/hr with no experience required. Higher compensation is available depending on candidate experience and certifications. Total Compensation Package to include: FREE PPE!
