Location: Modesto-Merced Area, CA | Onsite
Salary: $90,000-$115,000 annually
Schedule: Full-Time | Monday-Friday

About the Opportunity


We are partnering with a well-established agriculture and food manufacturing organization in the Modesto-Merced area to identify an experienced Human Resources Manager .

This is a hands-on, onsite leadership role responsible for overseeing day-to-day HR operations while partnering closely with executive leadership. The ideal candidate brings strong California HR expertise, manufacturing experience and the ability to effectively support both employees and management in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day HR operations and serve as a trusted resource to employees and management
• Manage employee relations, coaching, corrective action, investigations and conflict resolution
• Ensure compliance with California and federal employment laws and HR best practices
• Maintain and update HR policies, procedures, employee handbook and personnel records
• Oversee and improve timekeeping, payroll and HRIS processes
• Partner with leadership on recruiting, interviewing, onboarding and retention initiatives
• Manage employee benefits administration and coordinate with benefit providers and brokers
• Support workers' compensation, leaves of absence and related compliance requirements
• Develop and facilitate employee and management training programs
• Partner with leadership on compensation, performance management and workforce planning
• Support safety initiatives and HR-related programs within the manufacturing environment
• Identify opportunities to improve HR processes, systems and overall organizational effectiveness

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or related field preferred
• 10+ years of progressive Human Resources experience
• Previous HR experience within manufacturing, agriculture, food production or a similar environment strongly preferred
• Strong knowledge of California employment law and HR compliance
• Bilingual English/Spanish required
• Experience with payroll, timekeeping and HRIS systems
• Strong employee relations, investigation and conflict-resolution skills
• Ability to work effectively with employees at all levels of the organization
• Strong Microsoft Office skills
• SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR or SPHR certification is a plus
