Fabrication Shop Foreman

This is an on-site, full-time Fabrication Shop Foreman opportunity in Shawnee, KS, leading day-to-day shop operations, welding and pipefitting crews, and CNC/BIM-driven fabrication work. The Fabrication Shop Foreman supervises production teams, enforces ASME and API code compliance and OSHA safety standards, and coordinates schedules with Production Managers, Project Managers, and Field Superintendents. Pay ranges $35-45/hour depending on experience.

Key Responsibilities - Fabrication Shop Foreman

• Supervise fabrication personnel daily, assigning and tracking work orders while reporting progress to the Production Manager, Project Managers, and Field Superintendents. Train and mentor welders, pipefitters, and shop staff.
• Interpret blueprints, schematics, and specifications to direct fabrication, welding, and assembly work. Apply CNC and BIM knowledge where available to improve accuracy.
• Coordinate shop workflow with the Production Manager and project teams, anticipating material needs and delivery timelines.
• Partner with quality control to inspect work, maintain documentation, and resolve deficiencies against ASME and API standards.
• Enforce OSHA and company safety policies, run safety meetings and audits, and keep the shop clean and properly equipped.

Qualifications - Fabrication Shop Foreman

• 5+ years of experience in mechanical fabrication, welding, or pipefitting, including supervisory experience in a shop setting.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, welding symbols, and project drawings.
• Working knowledge of ASME and API industry standards.
• Strong communication and organizational skills for coordinating with Production Managers, Field Superintendents, and Project Managers.
• Willingness to travel to job sites as needed to support field work.

Preferred Qualifications - Fabrication Shop Supervisor

• AWS, ASME, or NDE certification.
• Experience with pressure vessel or modular fabrication.
• Proficiency in multiple welding processes, including SMAW, GTAW, and MIG/FCAW.
• CNC and BIM programming knowledge.
• Experience leading teams across both shop and field environments.

Physical Requirements - Fabrication Shop Foreman

• Work in shop and field settings with exposure to welding fumes, noise, heavy equipment, and outdoor conditions.
• Lift up to 50 lbs. and stand for extended periods.
• Work in confined or elevated spaces when required.
• Travel to job sites as needed.
• Use required personal protective equipment per company policy.
• Must be able to pass background check and drug screen.
