We are seeking a compassionate, skilled, and service-oriented Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) who is passionate about delivering high-quality patient care while contributing to a supportive and team-focused culture. In this role, you will provide direct patient care, contribute to the assessment of patient needs, recognize changes in patient condition, obtain medical histories, assist providers during examinations and procedures, administer medications and treatments, provide and reinforce patient education, and support continuity of care. The successful candidate will possess strong clinical judgment, excellent communication skills, and the ability to thrive in a dynamic healthcare setting serving a university population. Experience with emergency response procedures, medication administration, wound care, and patient education is preferred. IV certification or training is also preferred. Key Responsibilities

Provide direct nursing care and clinical support within the LPN scope of practice and established plans of care. Contribute to the assessment of patient needs by gathering relevant health information, recognizing changes in condition, and communicating findings to the appropriate provider or RN. Recognize acute medical situations, appropriately prioritize patient needs, and promptly communicate concerns to the healthcare team. Obtain and document patient histories, presenting symptoms, and other relevant clinical information. Assist healthcare providers during examinations, procedures, and treatments. Administer medications, injections, inhalation treatments, and wound care in accordance with established orders, policies, and scope of practice. Provide and reinforce patient education regarding medications, treatments, self-care, symptom monitoring, preventive health measures, and follow-up instructions in accordance with the established plan of care. Recognize and respond appropriately to medical emergencies, including initiating CPR/BLS, using an AED, providing basic airway support within training, implementing seizure safety measures, and assisting with emergency response until EMS or a higher level of care is available. Collaborate with healthcare providers, nursing staff, and other team members to promote safe, high-quality, patient-centered care and continuity of services.

Required Qualifications

• Vocational/Technical (degree must be conferred on or before agreed upon start date)

• LPN I: One year of clinical nursing experience.

  LPN II: Three years of clinical nursing experience

  LPN III: Five years of clinical nursing experience. Successful completion of Ambassador Program or enrollment within 12 months of LPN III. 

Certifications, Registrations, and/or Licenses:

Oklahoma LPN license, CPR certification

Skills, Proficiencies, and/or Knowledge:

Ability to lift, move, or transfer patients. Ability to lift or move some equipment. Ability to stand and walk for extended periods. Fine motor skills. Visual acuity.

Preferred Qualifications

• Vocational/Technical

• Three plus years experience preferred. IV certification/training is preferred. Will be expected to obtain after hire if not already certified.
