Job Overview

Marketech International Corporation USA is seeking a safety-focused and detail-oriented Chemical Technician to support the installation, operation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and commissioning of chemical distribution and process systems in semiconductor manufacturing environments.

 

This role supports chemical delivery equipment, bulk chemical systems, process piping, pumps, valves, filtration equipment, flow controls, instrumentation, and related facility infrastructure. Duties include recurring delivery-system operations and may expand to container changes, filter replacements, sampling, and related material-handling activities as site operations develop. The technician works closely with engineers, operations teams, contractors, vendors, and customer representatives to help maintain safe, reliable system performance.

 

The ideal candidate has strong mechanical aptitude, troubleshooting ability, and the ability to follow technical procedures in a safety-sensitive environment. The specific technician level will be determined based on the candidate's experience, technical knowledge, certifications, and interview assessment. Experience supporting semiconductor facilities, cleanrooms, chemical systems, industrial manufacturing, water treatment, pharmaceutical, or process facilities is highly preferred.

 

Key Responsibilities

Chemical System Operations and Maintenance

• Support the operation, inspection, maintenance, and troubleshooting of chemical distribution systems and related process support equipment.
• Monitor delivery equipment, pumps, valves, filtration systems, piping networks, flow controls, instrumentation, and associated system components.
• Support tanker and lorry delivery operations, including handling delivery connections and manually opening or closing hinged covers where required.
• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance in accordance with approved procedures, schedules, and safety requirements.
• Conduct routine equipment inspections, leak checks, operational verifications, system walkdowns, and condition assessments.
• Support chemical transfers, container changes, filter replacements, sampling, and related material-handling tasks as required by operating needs.
• Identify equipment degradation, abnormal operating conditions, leaks, alarms, and other potential reliability concerns.
• Maintain clean, organized work areas in alignment with cleanroom requirements and 5S practices.

 

Installation, Startup, and Commissioning Support

• Assist with equipment installation, startup, commissioning, testing, qualification, and turnover activities for chemical systems and process equipment.
• Support installation verification for piping, pumps, valves, tubing, fittings, sensors, filtration equipment, and related system components.
• Participate in system testing, functional checks, pressure testing, flushing, operational verification, and readiness reviews as assigned.
• Assist engineers and project teams with field troubleshooting, corrective actions, startup support, and resolution of installation-related issues.
• Review work instructions, equipment documentation, P&IDs, process flow diagrams, and technical drawings to support accurate field execution.
• Support project teams during construction, tool-install, facility expansion, maintenance shutdown, and commissioning activities.

 

Safety, Compliance, and Documentation

• Follow chemical-handling procedures, standard operating procedures, lockout/tagout requirements, PPE requirements, cleanroom protocols, and site-specific safety rules.
• Maintain compliance with hazardous-material handling requirements, Safety Data Sheet procedures, chemical labeling requirements, and spill-prevention practices.
• Safely use hand tools, testing equipment, meters, diagnostic instruments, and other maintenance tools.
• Document maintenance activities, inspections, repairs, troubleshooting findings, system performance data, and operational issues accurately and on time.
• Escalate equipment failures, process abnormalities, safety concerns, system alarms, and urgent maintenance needs to supervisors and engineering teams.
• Support incident-prevention efforts, safety observations, corrective actions, and continuous-improvement initiatives focused on reliability, uptime, and operational efficiency.
• Maintain organized maintenance records, inspection checklists, work orders, and technical documentation throughout the project or operational lifecycle.

 

Team Collaboration and Continuous Improvement

• Work collaboratively with engineers, operations teams, contractors, subcontractors, vendors, and customer representatives to support project execution and system reliability.
• Participate in team meetings, daily briefings, safety discussions, and project coordination activities.
• Provide clear updates regarding maintenance status, equipment conditions, troubleshooting progress, and outstanding system needs.
• Support continuous-improvement efforts related to system safety, equipment uptime, maintenance processes, documentation accuracy, and operational efficiency.
• Maintain a professional, dependable, and safety-first approach while working in fast-paced semiconductor, industrial, and construction environments.

 

Required Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to follow technical procedures, work instructions, safety protocols, maintenance schedules, and operating procedures.
• Comfortable working around industrial chemicals, chemical process systems, piping networks, and semiconductor facility equipment.
• Ability to work safely in cleanroom, manufacturing, industrial, construction, or chemical-processing environments.
• Strong attention to detail, safety awareness, and commitment to quality.
• Ability to work independently while also collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams.
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, climb, use hand tools, and handle materials in an active industrial environment.
• Ability to safely perform the physical tasks described in the Physical Requirements section while wearing required PPE.
• Strong written and verbal English communication skills.
• Ability to maintain accurate maintenance, inspection, and operational documentation.

 

Preferred Qualifications

• Associate degree or technical certification in Chemical Technology, Process Technology, Industrial Maintenance, Engineering Technology, or a related field.
• Experience working with semiconductor chemical delivery systems, bulk chemical systems, high-purity process systems, or facility utility systems.
• Experience with pumps, valves, piping systems, filtration equipment, flow controls, instrumentation, sensors, and chemical process equipment.
• Experience performing preventive maintenance, corrective maintenance, troubleshooting, startup, commissioning, or qualification activities.
• Previous experience in semiconductor facilities, cleanrooms, chemical plants, pharmaceutical facilities, water treatment, industrial manufacturing, or facilities-maintenance environments.
• Familiarity with hazardous-chemical handling, Safety Data Sheet requirements, chemical safety procedures, and spill-response practices.
• Basic understanding of PLCs, instrumentation, sensors, controls, alarms, or automated process systems.
• Ability to read and interpret P&IDs, process flow diagrams, equipment drawings, work instructions, and technical documentation.
• OSHA 10, OSHA 30, HAZWOPER, lockout/tagout, or other industrial safety certifications.
• Bilingual English/Mandarin Chinese communication skills are a plus, but not required.

Work Environment

This role involves work in semiconductor manufacturing, cleanroom, industrial, chemical-process, construction, and facility-support environments. The Chemical Technician may work around chemical delivery systems, piping networks, process support equipment, pumps, valves, filtration equipment, and related infrastructure.

 

The position requires following strict safety procedures, wearing required personal protective equipment, maintaining cleanroom and site standards, and responding to changing operational or project needs. Work may involve climbing and working at height with fall-protection equipment, manual handling of delivery-system components, and repetitive gripping, pulling, positioning, and reaching. Some material-handling equipment may be available for moving materials; certain delivery-system covers must be operated manually. The Chemical Technician must be comfortable working in an active field environment while maintaining accurate documentation and supporting safe, reliable system operations.

 

Physical Requirements

Physical tasks vary with operating and maintenance needs. Tanker and lorry operations are recurring duties and may be repeated throughout a shift. As site operations expand, the role may also include container changes, filter replacements, sampling, and related material-handling duties. The timing and frequency of these additional activities will depend on operating and maintenance schedules.

 

The role may require the technician to:

• Climb to and work at approximately one-story height while using required fall-protection equipment.
• Manually open or close hinged tanker covers weighing approximately 44–77 pounds when a mechanical assist is not available. This task involves lifting or pulling the cover into position.
• Handle delivery connections and components weighing approximately 11–22 pounds.
• As additional operations are introduced, handle process containers weighing up to approximately 44 pounds and filter components or housings weighing up to approximately 13 pounds.
• Grip, pull, push, position, reach, and maintain balance while working at height and wearing required PPE.
• Stand, walk, bend, climb, and use hand tools during an active shift.
