Policy Counsel Lead, Americas Public Policy Responsibilities About the Team: We are seeking an experienced and innovative counsel to join our public policy team, composed of seasoned tech policy leaders from various disciplines. The team provides strategic advice, anticipates policy trends, and drives thought leadership to position the company as an industry leader. The role focuses on leading responses to Congressional correspondence and serving as a subject matter expert for the broader Americas public policy team based in Washington, DC. Responsibilities: Anticipate and shape the future of tech policy by collaborating with legal and government affairs teams to monitor, interpret, and respond to emerging legislation across the Americas, including high-stakes communications from Congress and policymakers. Create clear, compelling messaging that simplifies complex legal and policy issues for diverse audiences, ensuring accuracy and impact. Manage regulatory changes proactively by working with legal counsel and government affairs to stay ahead of shifting tech regulations, protecting the company's regional operations. Qualifications Minimum Qualifications: JD and substantial legal experience, preferably in government, in-house, or at a law firm. Excellent writing and communication skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment. Experience collaborating across functions, influencing, and leading cross-functional initiatives. Proactive problem-solving skills, self-motivation, and discretion in handling sensitive information. Strong research and analytical abilities, with the capacity to communicate complex issues effectively. Good judgment, persuasive advocacy skills, creativity, and resilience in dynamic settings. Familiarity with issues relevant to lawmakers in tech policy, such as safety, privacy, data security, and content moderation. Preferred Qualifications: Experience in tech policy at regulatory agencies, legislative bodies, tech companies, or law firms. Ability to understand complex legal and technical issues and work with global stakeholders. Public speaking experience and team leadership skills.
