Job Responsibilities
- Perform thorough patient evaluations, encompassing physical examinations and comprehensive medical history reviews
- Assist in the assessment and diagnosis of surgical conditions through careful interpretation of imaging studies and laboratory results
- Engage closely with surgeons to develop and implement tailored surgical treatment plans for patients
- Provide vital intraoperative support, ensuring operating room readiness, patient positioning, and the timely provision of surgical instruments throughout procedures
- Facilitate outstanding pre- and post-operative care, covering aspects such as medication delivery, wound management, discharge planning, and patient education
- A Master's degree from a recognized Physician Assistant program
- Preferably completed clinical rotations with a focus on surgery
- Active and unrestricted PA-C certification
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications mandatory
- State licensure (or eligibility) as a Physician Assistant
- In-depth understanding of surgical principles and sterile practices
- Demonstrated ability to interpret diagnostic tests and aid in complex clinical determinations
- Strong communication and interpersonal abilities
- Capacity to excel in high-pressure contexts, especially during surgical operations
- Empathetic bedside manner and deep regard for patients' dignity and autonomy
