Principal Systems Engineer
Collins Aerospace, an RTX company, is a leader in technologically advanced and intelligent solutions for the global aerospace and defense industry. Solipsys, a wholly owned subsidiary of Collins Aerospace/RTX, is an industry leader in the development of command and control software systems and operates in a dynamic, complex, fast-paced business environment with both commercial and Government customers, including a mix of domestic and international pursuits and programs. We are seeking a Principal Systems Engineer to work on-site in Fulton, MD.
What You Will Do
- Serve as a technical lead and systems engineer on challenging software development projects such as the Common Aviation Command and Control System (CAC2S) or the Battlespace Command and Control Center (BC3).
- Be engaged with exciting and innovative advancements in Multi-Sensor and Information Fusion, Networked Situational Awareness, and Visualization technologies.
- Perform full life cycle systems engineering tasks including system requirements analysis, definition, architecture design, trade studies, integration, verification and validation (IV&V).
- Serve as Technical Leader of medium to large engineering development teams.
- Act as systems engineering discipline subject matter expert for department, mentoring other engineers and solving critical technical problems with innovative solutions.
- Travel to customer sites as needed.
Qualifications You Must Have
- Experience with design and requirements derivation for software; some coaching and mentoring experience.
- Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 8 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 5 years of experience
