Key Responsibilities

As the Part-Time Payroll & Accounts Payable Specialist, you will be responsible for supporting the organization's day-to-day payroll and accounts payable functions, including:

• Process biweekly payroll for fewer than 30 employees
• Manage the full accounts payable process, including invoices, checks, and electronic payments
• Review payroll information for accuracy and ensure timely processing
• Maintain accurate payroll, accounts payable, and financial records
• Ensure payroll and AP deadlines are consistently met
• Follow established municipal accounting policies and procedures
• Assist with reconciliations and other general accounting activities as needed
• Provide additional accounting and administrative support to the finance team

Qualifications

The ideal Part-Time Payroll & Accounts Payable Specialist will bring:

• 2+ years of payroll experience preferred
• Accounts payable, bookkeeping, or general accounting experience
• Experience processing payroll independently or with limited supervision
• Caselle accounting software experience strongly preferred
• Municipal, government, or public-sector accounting experience is a plus
• Strong attention to detail and ability to meet recurring deadlines
• Ability to work independently and take ownership of assigned responsibilities
