Glanbia provides a reasonable range of compensation for roles that may be hired in Illinois. This range may not be applicable to other locations. The hourly rate for Illinois based employees for this role is $36.00/hour ($33.00/hour + $3.00 shift differential). Benefits Include: Medical, Dental, Vision, Prescription Drug Coverage, FSA, HSA, Life & Disability Insurance, 19 Days Paid Time Off and 6% 401K match!Position Summary The Maintenance Technician (2nd Shift) performs preventive, predictive, and reactive maintenance to support safe, reliable plant operations. This role helps maximize production efficiencies, minimize downtime, and uphold safety and quality standards. This position requires flexibility to work 40+ hours per week, including weekends, holidays, overtime, and on-call rotation.Key Responsibilities Maintenance & Repair Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on plant equipment. Use hand tools, power tools, precision instruments, and electrical/electronic testing devices. Troubleshoot and repair machines such as blenders, scales, fillers, cappers, check weighers, palletizers, stretch wrappers, AC/DC motors, and drives. Complete PMs and work orders in the CMMS system (SAP preferred). Conduct equipment inspections and recommend corrective actions.Technical Support & Collaboration Serve as first responder to equipment issues. Collaborate with production teams to keep equipment operating safely and efficiently. Mentor maintenance trainees and operators. Assist in ordering replacement parts through the Parts Clerk. Support Continuous Improvement initiatives and Daily Management systems. Self-train on and operate production equipment as needed.Safety & Compliance Identify and correct unsafe conditions. Follow LOTO, Arc Flash, and PPE requirements. Ensure compliance with all safety and GMP/HACCP standards.Required Qualifications Minimum 4 years industrial maintenance experience High school diploma or vocational school equivalent Strong mechanical aptitude Ability to read mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic schematics Experience using electrical test equipment Knowledge of basic machine functions and operating sequences Excellent communication skills Ability to work independently and within a team English required; Spanish preferred Must supply own hand tools Proficient with Microsoft Office; CMMS experience preferred Experience operating Powered Industrial Trucks (PIT)Preferred Qualifications Technician-level formal education Training in electrical, hydraulics, pneumatics Basic PLC and drive training Food processing or dry powder filling experience Knowledge of NEC, UL508A, and NFPA 79 Root Cause Analysis and troubleshooting skills Experience with AC/DC motor PMs, wiring, and troubleshooting Servo drive and motion control experiencePhysical Requirements Standing & walking: Frequently Bending/stooping: Frequently Sitting: Occasional Lifting: Up to 25 lbs occasionally Ability to carry materials up to 25 feet and up stairsJoin a Global Leader in Performance Nutrition Glanbia provides competitive compensation, excellent benefits, and opportunities for growth within a global, innovative, and expanding organization.
