Mental Health Associate I - Behavioral Health Adult Inpatient - Evening Shift

Hourly Pay Range $24.86 - $37.29 – The hourly pay rate offered is determined by a candidate's expertise, years of experience, and other factors. Position Highlights Position: Mental Health Associate I Sign on bonus: N/A Location: Linden Oaks Hospital, Naperville, IL Employment type: Full Time Hours: 3:00 p.m. – 11:00 p.m. (Rotating holidays/weekends) A Brief Overview The Mental Health Associate I provides direct patient care to individuals with mental health disorders. The Associate participates in treatment planning and implementation while facilitating groups within assigned treatment programs. They ensure patient safety and well‑being by maintaining a secure environment and documenting care in accordance with department procedures. What You Will Do Facilitate didactic and educational programs, as well as unit/program community groups, encouraging patient participation in therapeutic activities. Supervise patients to ensure their safety and engagement in treatment. Provide one‑to‑one supervision, conduct unit rounds, and complete safety precaution records in real time. Orient new patients to unit, program, and milieu, establishing rapport with patients and families and providing hand‑off information during transfers. Participate in treatment planning with the interdisciplinary team, identifying patient problems, needs, and strengths, and suggesting modifications to the plan based on observations. Complete patient, program, and departmental documentation. Perform clerical and administrative tasks to support departmental operations. Monitor and report patient progress, communicating information to the shift charge person and family members. Required Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree in a behavioral health‑related field, or any bachelor’s degree plus at least one year of behavioral health experience. Maintain high levels of confidentiality. Ability to maintain professional boundaries and willingness to seek supervision. Preferred Qualifications Familiarity with medical and psychological terminology. Experience teaching or assisting with activities of daily living. Prior experience with therapeutic limit‑setting and milieu management. Licensure and Certification Requirements Valid driver’s license required for off‑site duties; if a personal vehicle is used, automobile liability coverage must be maintained. CPI (Crisis Prevention Intervention) certification within 90 days of hire. Current CPR certification issued by the American Heart Association or Red Cross.
