Dental Hygienist - Clinic

Job Location & Compensation Health Advocates Network is currently seeking a Dental Hygienist to work at a facility in Fairfax, VA. Pay Rate: $67 / hour Job Summary Work together with the dentist to meet the oral health needs of the patient. Provide a high level of patient care and satisfaction while operating in a team-based environment. Handles a variety of clinical duties for dental office operations. These duties range in complexity and skill, and all aspects of the job require an exceptional level of customer service skills and a strong commitment to working well with patients, doctors, dental assistants, and other dental office team members. Responsibilities Operate GBT Guided Biofilm Therapy equipment. Provide oral hygiene dental treatment, oral hygiene care, and education in accordance with guidelines approved, issued, and regulated by the state. Apply fluoride and protective sealants. Remove calculus, stain, and plaque from above and below the gum line. Provide nutritional counseling and self‑care programs to prevent disease. Record and review patient medical histories. Uphold office policy including HIPAA & OSHA. Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed. Order and keep track of inventory as needed. Other duties as assigned. Work Environment Job operates in a medical/clinical environment, routinely using standard office equipment such as computers, x-rays, and phones. Job operates in a well‑lit, sterile environment. Employees must wear gloves, masks, protective eye wear, and clothing to protect themselves and their patients from infectious disease. Physical Demands Frequently required to talk and hear, stand and/or sit for long periods of time, walk; use hands to handle or feel; reach with hands and arms. Frequently lift and/or move objects up to 25 pounds. Regularly exposed to blood and blood‑borne pathogens and/or physical risks, requiring OSHA training. Required Skills & Experience One (1) year of hands‑on experience as a hygienist. Experience operating GBT Guided Biofilm Therapy equipment. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Preferred Skills & Experience None. Required Education High school diploma or equivalent. Graduation from an accredited Dental Hygiene school. Preferred Education None. Required Certifications & Licensure Dental Hygienist License. X‑Ray Certifications. Preferred Certifications & Licensure Anesthesia Certifications.
