About The Role Our In‑Vehicle Team is looking for a Shift Supervisor to build a best‑in‑class AV operator team to successfully execute on our operational missions and meet Nuro’s challenging goals. As a Front Line manager, you will be responsible for hiring & onboarding operators, actively managing their growth & performance and leading continuous improvement processes and projects. You will work closely with cross‑functional stakeholders within operations and with other teams to ensure the team’s work remains a valuable part of the company’s metrics. People Management Hiring & Onboarding: run the interview process and successfully execute onboarding for new hires in line with the plan; work with the L&D team to develop the interview & onboarding process and the grading rubric. People Development: lead and manage a team of ~20 operators; provide feedback and guidance, ensure training and competency are up to date and provide coaching/mentoring. Performance Management: conduct performance reviews in line with the performance evaluation metrics; work with stakeholders to update metrics and identify ways to better capture them. Execution Management Manage start‑of‑shift and end‑of‑shift activities, including capturing operator attendance, supporting software burns and data importing, and preparing keys, disks, etc. Work with the planning team to ensure all operators are trained and ready for new feature/capability rollouts. Collaborate with the planning team to understand weekly goals and allocation strategy; provide visibility on operator availability on a periodic basis. Respond to operator and onsite incidents as per internally established procedures. Review plan vs. actual performance weekly to understand drivers for deviations and identify action items to resolve them. Manage continuous improvement processes and projects across functions to enhance efficiency and throughput. Engage with peers in other locations to share best practices and drive standardization. About You Enjoy working with people and have at least 2+ years experience managing teams of at least 10+ direct reports. Natural leader who takes ownership of the team’s work. Understanding of U.S. Labor laws, Employment laws and Driving laws. Strong problem‑solving skills and initiative to resolve issues independently. Comfortable reviewing data and possess exceptional interpersonal and communication skills. Enjoy working in a fast‑paced, dynamic environment with a willingness to help wherever needed. Friendly, positive attitude with willingness to learn and grow. Excited about robots and supporting the development of AI and robotics endeavors. Ability to work a flexible schedule that meets business needs, including nights, evenings and weekends. Bonus Points At least 4+ years experience managing large teams (15+ direct reports). At least 2+ years experience in the AV/delivery industry. Compensation & Benefits Base pay range: $80,180 to $108,240 for the level of this position. Pay depends on experience, qualifications, education, location, and skills. Eligible for annual performance bonus, equity, and a competitive benefits package.
