The Raw Chicken Food Manufacturing Warehouse Worker is responsible for handling, storing, moving, preparing, and shipping raw chicken products and related materials in a safe and sanitary food-processing environment. The employee must follow strict food-safety, sanitation, quality-control, and workplace-safety procedures while working in a fast-paced environment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Receive and unload raw chicken products and food-processing materials.
• Inspect incoming products for proper labeling, packaging, temperature, quality, and quantity.
• Move raw chicken products between receiving, processing, storage, and shipping areas.
• Store raw chicken in designated refrigerated or frozen areas according to company procedures.
• Maintain proper product temperatures and follow cold-chain requirements.
• Pick and stage raw chicken products and materials for production.
• Prepare finished or packaged chicken products for shipment.
• Verify product labels, lot numbers, dates, weights, and quantities.
• Operate pallet jacks, carts, conveyors, scales, and other warehouse equipment as trained.
• Follow FIFO/FEFO inventory procedures as required.
• Keep work areas, equipment, floors, racks, and storage areas clean and sanitary.
• Perform routine cleaning and sanitation duties according to established procedures.
• Follow Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), HACCP procedures, and company food-safety policies.
• Wear required personal protective equipment (PPE), including gloves, hair/beard restraints, protective clothing, and slip-resistant footwear.
• Prevent cross-contamination by following proper handling, storage, sanitation, and product-separation procedures.
• Immediately report damaged products, spills, equipment problems, temperature issues, contamination concerns, or safety hazards to a supervisor.
• Complete required production, inventory, temperature, sanitation, and inspection records.
• Follow all company policies and OSHA/workplace safety requirements.
• Perform other duties assigned by the Warehouse or Production Supervisor.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a food-processing, poultry, warehouse, production, or distribution environment preferred.
• Experience handling raw chicken or other raw meat products is a plus.
• Ability to work in refrigerated or cold environments.
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
• Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull products and materials.
• Ability to follow food-safety and sanitation instructions.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced production environment.
• Basic ability to read labels, product codes, weights, and production instructions.

Food Safety Requirements

Employees must strictly follow all applicable food-safety procedures, including:

• Proper handwashing and personal hygiene.
• Proper use of gloves and protective clothing.
• Prevention of cross-contamination between raw chicken and other products.
• Proper product temperature control.
• Proper cleaning and sanitation procedures.
• Compliance with GMP, HACCP, and company food-safety programs.
• Proper identification and handling of damaged, contaminated, or out-of-specification products.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand and walk for most of the work shift.
• Ability to repeatedly bend, reach, push, pull, and lift.
• Ability to handle boxes, totes, trays, pallets, and other materials.
• Ability to work safely in wet, cold, and refrigerated environments.
• Ability to perform repetitive tasks while maintaining attention to safety and quality.

Working Conditions

This position works in a raw chicken processing and warehouse environment that may include cold temperatures, wet floors, refrigeration areas, strong food odors, noise, and frequent movement of products and equipment. Employees must follow strict sanitation, hygiene, PPE, and food-safety requirements at all times.
