Licensed Practical Nurse - UI Health Care Clinics 50-100% (Multiple Openings) This requisition represents multiple Licensed Practical Nurse openings within the department. The University of Iowa Community Clinics is seeking a patient centered 0 - 100% (20 - 40 hours a week) Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to work at our UICC Clinics. These positions will mainly support our Family Medicine Clinics or Internal Medicine Clinics but could float to other patient specialties/clinic locations including but not limited to: Family Medicine, Pediatrics, and/or Specialty/Outreach Clinics. We provide care for pregnancy, baby wellness, vaccinations, school and athletic physicals, acute visits, annual check-ups, mental health, on-site laboratory services, and more. When a patient needs specialty care, our family medicine provider connects them with the appropriate UI Health Care specialist, ensuring a seamless experience by sharing your medical records. Responsibilities Provides nursing care under the supervision of a registered professional nurse. Participates in the development of nursing care plans and in the implementation of therapeutic program for patients. In less complex situations, may assume responsibility for directing and supervising assigned nursing personnel. In more complex situations, performs as an assistant to the registered professional nurse. Current valid driver’s license and the ability to meet the University Driving Policy Standards. Responsibilities Functions as a member of the patient care team under direct supervision of LIP, RN, NM/ANM or other licensed designee. Performs technical, patient care and related clerical functions in the urgent care setting by coordinating all elements of the patient visit. Under direct supervision of physician, physician assistant, nurse practitioner or registered nurse. Performs technical, patient care and related clerical functions in an ambulatory setting. Duties may involve the use of electronic word/data processing equipment and/or conventional office equipment. Responsible to take the required continuing education hours to maintain a valid LPN certification. Basic Cardiac Life Support provider. Special Qualification / License Driver's License and ability to meet UI Fleet Safety Standards. Demonstrated excellent written/verbal communication. Highly Desired Requirements Previous EPIC experience. Previous Family Medicine experience. Ability to demonstrate teamwork and autonomy in all aspects of the role. Desirable Qualifications Previous EPIC experience. Minimum 6 months ambulatory experience. Previous immunization experience. Previous phlebotomy experience. Staff may be required to receive a passing score on work samples to be considered for this position.
