Volt is immediately hiring for Maintenance Tech Level III in Irvine, CA

As a Maintenance Tech Level III you will:

• Diagnose and repair NC/CNC machine issues, including turret/spindle alignment and ball screw replacement
• Troubleshoot and repair:
• Hydraulics and pneumatics
• Lubrication systems
• Pumps, motors, valves, cylinders, and hoses
• Perform preventive maintenance (PM) and full equipment overhauls
• Maintain furnaces, presses, cranes, forging equipment, and blast systems
• Repair refractory linings and assist with specialized furnace components
• Inspect, repair, and maintain electrical systems on all plant equipment, including:
• CNC machines, welders, cranes, furnaces, conveyors, substations, and generators
• Troubleshoot and repair:
• Motors, transformers, relays, contactors, PLCs, and drives
• Rewire and modify circuits (24V–480V, single & three-phase)
• Use testing equipment to diagnose voltage, load, grounding, and faults
• Install and commission new machinery and equipment (mechanical and electrical)
• Perform electrical work for:
• New buildings, facility upgrades, and system expansions
• Install conduit (EMT and rigid), wiring, and mechanical components
• Read and interpret:
• Mechanical drawings
• Electrical schematics
• Technical manuals and work orders
• Inspect equipment for wear, damage, and safety compliance
• Diagnose issues using sound, vibration, and performance data
• Test equipment post-repair to ensure proper operation
• Conduct routine inspections and maintenance to prevent failures
• Maintain logs and documentation of equipment status and repairs
• Communicate with production teams to resolve issues
• Assist in training and mentoring junior technicians
• Support continuous improvement and reliability initiatives
• Perform general facility repairs including:
• Plumbing
• Carpentry
• Structural and utility systems
• Support contractors during installations and major repairs

This is a full-time Contract to Hire opportunity.

The ideal candidate will have:

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of:
• Mechanical systems (alignment, hydraulics, pneumatics)
• Electrical systems (24V–480V, single/three-phase)
• PLCs, relays, drives, and motor controls preferred
• Ability to read and interpret:
• Schematics (electrical & mechanical)
• Technical manuals and drawings
• Experience using:
• Electrical test equipment (voltmeters, amp meters, etc.)
• Precision measuring tools (micrometers, calipers)
• Welding, cutting, and fabrication tools
• Alignment and diagnostic tools
• Diagnose complex mechanical and electrical issues independently
• Apply math concepts including algebra, geometry, and measurements
• Work effectively with limited standardization

Experience & Education

• 6–10+ years of industrial maintenance experience
• Associate degree or technical training preferred
• Equivalent combination of education and hands-on experience accepted

Schedule: 1st shift- shift can start as early as 5am to 6am and 8hrs a day (must be flex on weekend work if Maintenance is needed on machinery)

Pay Rate Range: $38 to $40 per hour

*Pay range offered to a successful candidate will be based on several factors, including the candidate's education, work experience, work location, specific job duties, certifications, etc.
