VACANCY

The Valley View Public School District is seeking an individual to fill a full time English/Language Arts teaching position for the 2026-2027 school year.

JOB SUMMARY

The teacher is responsible to the Building Principal for: Planning instructional lessons that meet the needs, interests and abilities of all students, including those in the process of developing their English proficiency; creating a classroom environment that is conducive to learning; and employing effective instructional techniques including sheltered English instruction and assessments.

QUALIFICATIONS

Applicants must hold the appropriate State of Illinois (PEL) Professional Educator License with English Language Arts Endorsement. Applicants must hold an ESL endorsement or agree upon hiring to enroll in an 18 credit-hour program that leads to one (tuition reimbursement and salary advancement benefits apply). Successful teaching experience (9-12 school level preferred). Applicants may be required to teach enhancement sections. Demonstrated skill in diagnosing, prescribing, assessing student learning, and appropriate record keeping. Knowledge of current teaching techniques, computers and multimedia. Applicants must be able to structure a classroom to maximize student learning. Applicants must be able to establish effective communication skills with a variety of stakeholders. A commitment to the middle school program and philosophy. Experience and willingness to participate in co‑curricular program as sponsor, supervisor or coach.
