Staff Accountant

Staff AccountantWe are seeking a staff accountant to support day-to-day accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger activity, and month-end close. This role works closely with the controller and helps ensure financial records remain accurate, organized, and current.This is a hands-on role suited for someone who is comfortable working in the details each day, processing transactions, reconciling accounts, and maintaining supporting documentation.ResponsibilitiesAccounts PayableMonitor and manage the AP shared inbox dailyProcess vendor invoices in the AP platform, including coding and routing for approvalFollow up on outstanding approvals to keep invoices moving through the workflowManage vendor payments (ACH, check, wire)Process employee expense reimbursementsReconcile AP subledger to the general ledgerMaintain vendor records, including W-9 collection and 1099 complianceAccounts ReceivableReview and reconcile customer invoices generated by operations through the project management system to the accounting systemMonitor AR aging and follow up on outstanding balancesDeposit customer checks and post payments in the accounting systemReconcile AR subledger to the general ledgerGeneral AccountingMonitor and manage the accounting inbox dailyPrepare and post journal entriesPerform monthly balance sheet reconciliationsAssist with month-end and year-end close processesPrepare supporting schedules and documentation for external auditors as neededPayroll and HR SupportReview and post payroll journal entriesAssist with payroll reconciliation and reportingCoordinate with HR on processing new hires, terminations, and employee changesOtherAssist with ad hoc reporting and analysisParticipate in process improvement and documentation effortsQualificationsRequiredBachelor's degree in accounting1+ years of accounting experienceWorking knowledge of full-cycle AP and ARProficiency in Excel (lookups, pivot tables, basic formulas at minimum)Strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlinesClear written and verbal communicationPreferredExperience with cloud-based ERP systems including Sage IntacctExperience with AP automation platforms including Bill.com and RampExperience supporting external audits
