Senior Consultant, OpenShift Infrastructure and Virtualization

Senior Container Infrastructure Consultant – The RedHat Consulting team is looking for an experienced consultant to design and guide implementations of RedHat OpenShift infrastructure projects, focusing on containerization, virtualization, networking, storage, security, logging, monitoring, and resilience. This remote-based role can be located anywhere in the United States within proximity to an airport and requires residence in a state where RedHat is registered to do business. What you will do Implementation & Design – Implement automated, containerized cloud application platform solutions with a focus on infrastructure concerns including networking, storage, virtualization, security, logging, monitoring, high availability, and system resilience. Understand how to build production-ready container and virtualization platforms, integrated with existing enterprise systems. Continuous Learning – Learn new technologies quickly, including container orchestration, container registries, container build strategies, cloud storage, and software‑defined networks. Complete an intensive training program on Kubernetes, OpenShift technologies, and related DevOps and GitOps topics. Customer Engagement – Travel frequently to work alongside leading financial services, retail, telecommunications, and institutional customers, focusing on the successful, collaborative delivery of customer requirements using RedHat OpenShift. Technical Leadership & Community – Successfully implement complex, large‑scale container platform solutions in challenging customer environments; help other consultants learn DevOps/GitOps paired with container technologies; contribute lessons learned, best practices, and how‑tos to internal and external communities of practice. What you will bring Education – Associates or Bachelor’s degree or higher in computer science or a technical discipline. Consulting Experience – Proven track record of leading modern cloud platform consulting engagements and acting in a strategic advisory role to senior IT and business executives. VMware Infrastructure – Broad and deep technical experience with VMwareESXi, vCenter, VM lifecycle operations, VMware network (S/DV Switches/NSX), and storage (Datastores, vSAN, vVols). Operations & Integration – Experience with logging and alerting functions for SRE operations from VMware and integration with non‑VMware systems such as Splunk. Agile/DevOps – Applied knowledge and experience working in agile, scrum, and DevOps teams. Professional Skills – Excellent written, verbal communication and presentation skills. Travel – Willingness to travel to customer locations about 30‑40 weeks per year across North America. Additional Technologies – Knowledge of third‑party tools such as Aria/vRealize Suite, SRM, backup software, performance tools; experience with OpenStack, RedHat Virtualization, MicrosoftHyper‑V, AmazonWeb Services (AWS), or Microsoft Azure; experience across one or more vertical industry areas. Salary Range $118,600.00 – $195,680.00 (actual offer based on qualifications). The position may also be eligible for bonus, commission, and/or equity.
