Luxury Custom Home Builder
Ardmore, PA
$90,000–$125,000 + Bonus Potential + Benefits

Our client is a well-established luxury custom home builder serving Philadelphia’s Main Line and surrounding communities. Known for exceptional craftsmanship, thoughtful design, and highly detailed residential projects, the company is seeking a Senior Estimator to lead preconstruction estimating and support projects from initial concept through contract award.

This role is ideal for an experienced residential construction estimator who understands the complexity of one-of-a-kind homes, renovations, premium finishes, and architect-driven projects. The Senior Estimator will collaborate closely with company leadership, project managers, architects, designers, subcontractors, and clients to develop accurate and competitive project budgets.

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed conceptual, schematic, and final estimates for luxury custom homes, additions, and major renovations
• Review architectural drawings, specifications, design documents, and subcontractor proposals
• Perform quantity takeoffs and develop detailed labor, material, equipment, and subcontractor cost estimates
• Solicit, evaluate, and level bids from subcontractors and vendors
• Identify scope gaps, inconsistencies, risks, and potential cost-saving opportunities
• Develop preliminary budgets during early design and preconstruction
• Maintain current pricing data and strong relationships with trade partners and suppliers
• Prepare bid packages, scopes of work, and estimate presentations
• Collaborate with project management and field teams to support a smooth handoff from estimating to construction
• Assist with value engineering while preserving the design intent and quality expectations of each project
• Track historical costs and use completed-project data to improve future estimates
• Support change-order pricing and cost analysis as needed
• Participate in client, architect, and preconstruction meetings

Qualifications

• 5+ years of construction estimating experience
• Experience estimating luxury custom homes, high-end residential projects, or complex renovations strongly preferred
• Strong understanding of residential construction methods, materials, sequencing, and trade scopes
• Ability to read and interpret architectural drawings and specifications
• Experience soliciting and evaluating subcontractor bids
• Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills
• High attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple estimates and deadlines
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and estimating or construction-management software
• Experience with Buildertrend, Procore, Bluebeam, PlanSwift, Sage Estimating, or similar platforms is a plus
• Established relationships with subcontractors and vendors in the Greater Philadelphia market are helpful but not required
