Payroll Specialist

Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Accounting is required. Experience processing payroll for 1,000+ employees is preferred. Primary Duties/Responsibilities Process and prepare bi‑weekly payroll, ensuring accuracy and compliance throughout the payroll cycle. Administer payroll‑related functions, including garnishments, ACA tracking, and check processing. Maintain payroll documentation and perform monthly account reconciliations. Review payroll reports and deductions to verify accuracy and resolve discrepancies. Assist with month‑end close activities and payroll‑related accounting processes. Support the preparation and review of federal and state tax filings, including W‑2 forms. Ensure compliance with agency policies, procedures, and applicable regulations. Prepare and post payroll‑related journal entries and reconcile payroll‑related general ledger. Other duties as assigned.
