Smith Industries is seeking an experienced ASME Code Quality Inspector to join our Quality team. This position is responsible for ensuring the quality, integrity, and code compliance of pressure vessels, tanks, and fabricated products throughout the manufacturing process.

Key Responsibilities

• Inspect pressure vessels, tanks, and fabricated products throughout production.
• Verify compliance with ASME, API, customer specifications, and company quality standards.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings and fabrication specifications.
• Perform inspections of materials, welds, and finished products.
• Identify weld discontinuities and nonconforming conditions.
• Complete inspection documentation and maintain accurate quality records.
• Verify material traceability, including heat numbers and identification markings.
• Support the Quality Management System and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Collaborate with Production, Safety, and Engineering to ensure product quality.
• Assist with employee training on applicable quality standards and procedures.

Qualifications

• Experience inspecting ASME pressure vessels or heavy fabrication required.
• Knowledge of ASME and API codes.
• UT and MT certifications required.
• Ability to read engineering drawings and welding symbols.
• Strong computer and documentation skills.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
• Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
• Ability to climb ladders, bend, squat, and inspect products throughout the facility.
• Ability to work in a manufacturing environment.
