Lecturer Pool - EMT/Paramedic Education

The EMS Education Program in the Department of Health Sciences at Central Washington University (CWU) is accepting applications to fill current and future full-time, part-time, quarterly and annual appointment lecturer positions to teach classes in Emergency Medical Services (EMS). This includes instruction in EMT and Paramedic coursework, both lecture and laboratory-based. We are seeking dedicated educators with real-world EMS experience and a passion for preparing the next generation of EMS professionals. This list is not all inclusive: other courses/subject areas may become available within the department.

Minimum Qualifications

• Master's Degree and/or required specialized certifications where appropriate
• Current EMT/Paramedic certification (Washington State or National Registry)
• Minimum of three years experience as a Paramedic/EMT with an EMS provider

Preferred Qualifications

• Instructor credentials in ACLS, PALS (or PEPP), and ITLS (or PHTLS), or willingness to obtain
• Experience teaching both in-person and online classes
• Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively and work collaboratively with students and colleagues

Pay & Work Schedule

Pay: Based on the terms and conditions of the Collective Bargaining Agreement .
The minimum remuneration for the non-tenure-track titles for the 2025-2026 academic year will be as follows:
(a) Lecturer: $1,224 per workload unit for faculty with terminal degrees; $979 per workload unit for faculty without terminal degrees.
(b) Senior Lecturer: $1,346 per workload unit for faculty with terminal degrees; $1,075 per workload unit for faculty without terminal degrees.

Effective September 1, 2026,
The minimum remuneration for the non-tenure-track titles for the 2026-2027 academic year will be as follows:
(a) Lecturer: $1,248 per workload unit for faculty with terminal degrees; $999 per workload unit for faculty without terminal degrees.
(b) Senior Lecturer: $1,373 per workload unit for faculty with terminal degrees; $1,097 per workload unit for faculty without terminal degrees.

Additional Information : This announcement will be used to develop a pool of applicants for positions in the department of Health Sciences through March 2027. There is a possibility that selected applicants may be called on short notice to fill lecturer vacancies on a quarter-by-quarter basis.

Screening of applications begins immediately and will continue as needed. The number of lecturer positions filled varies from quarter to quarter, depending upon the needs of the department. Positions typically start at the beginning of an academic quarter. Your application will be maintained in this pool for consideration through March 2027.
