Accounting Specialist - Receivables Colerain Township, OH 45251 10/2/2026

PURPOSE: The Accounting Specialist will plan,organize, process and manage the accounts receivable function, lead or assistwith the monthly bank reconciliation, supporting the functions of the Finance Department, and plan and implement initiatives toachieve the Township’s strategic goals. SCOPE: The Accounting Specialist will play an integral rolein the success of the Finance Department and will plan, organize, coordinate,and direct activities related to the accounting functions of the Township. ESSENTIAL ROLES & RESPONSIBLILITIES: May include, but not limited to thefollowing: Plan,organize, process and manage the accounts receivable or accounts payablefunction, consistent with township policy, collective bargainingagreements, and the Ohio Revised Code. Lead orassist with the monthly bank reconciliation. Plan andimplement initiatives to achieve the Township’s strategic goals. Prepares periodicfinancial or operational reports. Identifyopportunities to improve organizational performance. Identifyopportunities to secure outside funding, grant writing, monitoring, andcompliance. Otherduties as assigned. CRITICAL SKILLS / EXPERTISE: Highlyproficient with Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel. Proficientwith financial management systems on a fund accounting platform is preferred. Must have akeen sense of attention to detail and commitment to accuracy. Ability tostructure, prioritize, and manage multiple projects. Strongcommunication skills, both written and oral. Commitment to customerservice. Must be a self-starter,demonstrating strong initiative, and exhibiting a high energy level toquickly generate results. Ability to establish and maintain harmonious workingrelationships with employees. Must be a person of high integrity, energy and enthusiasm whocan work independently, and as part of a team; consistently exercisesgood professional judgment. Must be an agile, adaptable and flexible individual who is ableto quickly and effectively change direction in an environmentcharacterized by ambiguity and continual change. EDUCATION,LICENSING & CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: High schooldiploma or GED required. Graduate of accredited four-year college oruniversity with a degree in accounting, finance, business or publicadministration, or a closely related field preferred. PHYSICAL& MENTAL REQUIREMENTS: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequentlyrequired to sit, talk, and hear, use hands and fingers to handle or feelobjects, tools, or controls, and to reach with hands and arms.
