Med Assistant II FLOAT - FT - Day - CMG Central Resource Office

Position Overview Capital Health is a five‑time Magnet‑Recognized health system dedicated to progressive, quality patient care. This role provides medical assistance in a primary care setting. Pay Range $19.32 - $28.07 Scheduled Weekly Hours 40 Float Differential Additional $1.75 per hour. Essential Functions Prepares patients for examination by performing preliminary physical tests such as blood pressure, weight, and temperature; reports patient history summary. Cleans exam rooms, obtains laboratory specimens, assists physicians and staff as needed, selects appropriate equipment, and verifies specimen orders. Prepares exam rooms and assists the Licensed Independent Practitioner (LIP) as requested, maintains supplies and forms, and keeps statistics as assigned. Performs clerical duties including patient registration, answering phones, scheduling appointments, and maintaining medical records. Performs electrocardiograms and other point‑of‑care testing following established policies. Documents medical information in electronic medical records, including medication and refill data and patient call documentation. Coordinates with front‑office personnel and ancillary staff in a professional manner in adherence to policies and procedures. Assists in front‑office functions such as checkout, claim creation, discharge paperwork, referrals, patient education, appointments, and insurance eligibility. Performs other selected clinical and clerical duties that assist in patient care management under provider direction. Cross‑trained to perform Patient Reception Representative job duties as needed. Conducts NJ Prescription Monitoring Program uploads and monitoring under LIP direction. Performs injections and related duties in compliance with Capital Health policies. Undergoes additional duties as required and may be assigned to other Capital Health Medical Group practices. Minimum Requirements High school diploma or equivalent. Graduate of a post‑secondary medical assisting education program accredited by a recognized agency, with at least 330 instructional hours, including training in injection procedures. Current certification from an AAMA, NCCT, AMCA, NAHP, NCMA, AMT, or other approved certifying body. American Heart Association basic life support (BLS). Non‑licensed candidates must obtain BLS before the end of the orientation period. Physical Demands and Work Environment Frequent physical demands: standing, walking, reaching forward, wrist position deviation, pinching/fine motor activities. Occasional physical demands: sitting, climbing, push/pull, twisting, bending, reaching overhead, squatting/kneeling/crawl, taste or smell. Continuous physical demands: carrying objects, keyboard use/repetitive motion, talking or hearing. Lifting: floor to waist 40 lbs, waist level and above 40 lbs. Sensory requirements: near vision 20/40, accurate far vision, color discrimination, moderate depth perception, accurate hearing. Anticipated occupational exposure risks: bloodborne pathogens, chemical, airborne communicable disease, dust/particulate matter.
