Position Overview:

As a Surgical Technician, you will join a dynamic perioperative team dedicated to precision, collaboration, and patient-focused care, all of which contribute to outstanding surgical results. This role provides avenues for professional development, advanced clinical exposure, and a commitment to safety, innovation, and ongoing improvement. In the Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR), you will be vital in preparing the surgical environment, assisting surgeons and perioperative nurses during operations, and ensuring that every patient receives safe, efficient, and high-quality surgical care. Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare operating rooms by organizing surgical instruments, equipment, and sterile supplies for upcoming procedures.
• Ensure a sterile environment is maintained in the operating room.
• Work alongside the perioperative registered nurse to deliver personalized, age-appropriate care throughout the surgical process.
• Maintain a sterile field and adhere to infection control protocols and organizational policies to ensure safe surgical outcomes.
• Anticipate the needs of the surgeon regarding instruments and equipment during procedures, adapting to changes in surgical conditions as necessary.
• Assist the surgical team during both routine and complex procedures by handling instruments and supplies with precision.
• Monitor the surgical environment to ensure patients' physiological responses are appropriate throughout the perioperative experience.
• Support a safe operating room atmosphere by following established risk reduction practices, including fire prevention and safety protocols related to laser and electrosurgical equipment.
• Collaborate closely with surgeons, anesthesia providers, registered nurses, and other perioperative team members to deliver coordinated, patient-centered care.
• Ensure accurate preparation and organization of surgical equipment to facilitate efficient workflow between procedures.
• Engage in departmental education, orientation, competency validation, and quality improvement initiatives to uphold clinical excellence.

Qualifications & Requirements:

To qualify for this Surgical Technician position, you should be dedicated to providing safe, high-quality surgical care through technical expertise and teamwork.

Essential Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent is required.
• Completion of a Surgical Technician program and certification (CST credential through the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA) or another recognized credentialing body) is mandatory.
• A minimum of 2 years of experience as a surgical technician in an operating room setting is required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) is necessary.
• Ability to work a schedule of 36 hours per week, specifically during the day shift from 6:00 AM to 6:30 PM.
• Willingness to work weekends, holidays, and fulfill on-call duties as assigned.
