Cross Country Nurses is seeking a travel nurse RN NICU - Neonatal Intensive Care for a travel nursing job in Madison, Wisconsin. Job Description & Requirements Specialty: NICU - Neonatal Intensive Care Discipline: RN Start Date: 09/28/2026 Duration: 13 weeks 36 hours per week Shift: 12 hours, days Employment Type: Travel Job Summary The Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) Nurse is based in a comprehensive pediatric medical and surgical center. This role involves providing critical care to neonates requiring advanced medical and surgical interventions within a Level IV NICU environment. The position ensures compassionate and specialized care for highly acuity neonatal patients. Job Details Position: Registered Nurse (RN) in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) Location: The healthcare facility Schedule: Day/Evening, 12-hour shifts, from 7:00am to 7:30pm, Monday through Friday, with 2-3 weekends per 6-week schedule period Required Qualifications: Active RN license (WI RN license or compact), BLS, NRP certifications; minimum of 2 years of total NICU experience, including at least 1 full year in a Level IV NICU, with experience managing post-op patients, g-tubes, trach/vents, and various ventilation modes Preferred Qualifications: Experience with Epic electronic medical records, certifications in PALS, and familiarity with neonatal and pediatric critical care procedures Responsibilities: Provide high-acuity neonatal care including ventilator management, invasive and noninvasive support, and post-operative patient care. Must be comfortable with complex procedures such as arterial line management, blood products administration, and line care. Additional Information: Must have prior charge nurse experience, pass strict pass/fail telemetry testing (with re-test attempts allowed), and be willing to float to all units including PICU. Certification in neonatal care and experience with specialized equipment such as ventilators, aEEG, and cooling devices is preferred.
