Responsibilities

• Deliver direct nursing care for patients in the emergency department, including data collection, assessment, and documentation
• Develop and implement individualized care plans, coordinate with physicians and other team members, and adjust plans as patient needs evolve
• Administer medications and treatments per orders; monitor responses and manage potential complications
• Supervise and coordinate tasks across nursing staff, delegating duties appropriately and ensuring patient safety
• Participate in discharge planning and patient/family education to support continued care after discharge
• Document care and interventions accurately in the electronic health record and collaborate with interdisciplinary teams during codes and high-acuity events

Requirements

• Current Registered Nurse license in the state of California
• BLS certification (CPR) required; additional AH-approved BLS variants accepted per policy
• ACLS certification required
• PALS (AHA) certification required
• NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification required
• EPIC and Cerner experience required
• At least two years of recent RN experience in acute care or emergency settings
• BSN preferred
• Ability to work in a fast-paced ED environment and participate in discharge planning and education
