Position Overview

As a Cook at Federal Donuts & Chicken, you will be responsible for preparing and cooking food according to our established recipes and procedures. You will work alongside other kitchen staff to ensure that food is prepared quickly and efficiently while maintaining cleanliness and organization in the kitchen. Your role will be key in helping us provide our customers with a consistently excellent dining experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook menu items according to recipes, ensuring that food is prepared to the highest standards of quality, taste, and presentation.
• Work efficiently to ensure timely delivery of food during busy periods while maintaining a clean and organized workstation.
• Stay up to date on all menu items, including ingredients, preparation methods, and presentation, and help with creating new menu items as needed.
• Ensure all food meets company standards for taste, temperature, and appearance before being served to customers.
• Follow all food safety guidelines and maintain cleanliness and organization in the kitchen, including properly storing ingredients and disposing of waste.
• Work effectively with kitchen and front-of-house staff to ensure smooth operations during shifts. Communicate clearly with team members and the kitchen manager.
• Help with the inventory of kitchen supplies, restocking ingredients, and ensuring proper rotation of food stock to prevent spoilage.
• Assist with general kitchen cleaning and organization during and after shifts, including washing dishes, cleaning cooking equipment, and ensuring the kitchen meets all health and safety regulations.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a cook or in a fast-paced kitchen environment is preferred.
• Ability to work in a high-pressure environment while maintaining attention to detail.
• Strong knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices.
• Ability to work as part of a team and communicate effectively with coworkers.
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Positive attitude, a strong work ethic, and reliability.
• Ability to stand for long periods of time and lift up to 50 pounds.
• Flexibility to work nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
