Make a real difference in students’ daily experiences by supporting vibrant learning environments in an instructional classroom for grades 2-3. As a paraprofessional, you’ll play a crucial role near Aurora, IL, assisting learners with higher functional and academic needs at the elementary level. Desired Background & Qualifications:
- Current Illinois Paraprofessional (PARA) certification is required
- Previous experience working with elementary-aged children, especially those with higher academic and functional needs
- Strong interpersonal communication and a positive, collaborative approach
- Reliability, patience, and the ability to adapt instructional strategies as needed
- Capability to follow classroom direction and support both teacher and students effectively
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with instructional activities in a 2nd–3rd grade classroom
- Provide direct support to students, adapting materials and reinforcing daily learning
- Foster an inclusive, respectful, and growth-oriented classroom atmosphere
- Collaborate closely with teachers to implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and behavioral strategies
- Participate in classroom management and help oversee student engagement during activities and transitions
- Attend required training sessions and school meetings as needed
