For information about our bureau go to: .This vacancy may be used to fill additional positions as vacancies become available.Responsibilities This position is located within the Department of the Interior, Bureau of Safety and Environmental Enforcement, Associate Director for Administration, Technology Services Division, Data Management Branch in Sterling, VA or Jefferson, LA.At the full performance level (GS-14) the major duties of this position include, but are not limited to the following:1. Works to implement policy and program guidance processes for the capture, storage, retrieval, and advanced analysis of data, which standardizes and synchronizes BSEE mission performance metrics across program areas.2. Obtains raw data from government activities, contractors, and subject matter experts. Develops, evaluates and converts data into meaningful charts and other meaningful tools. Interprets results of analyses performed, identifies important problem areas for in-depth analysis by subject matter experts and presents results as required in tables, charts, descriptive narratives, letter reports, technical reports and briefings.3. Works with the Data Architect and IT Database Administrators to determine methods for data sharing, controls, and accessibility for the needs of the office.4. Defines, maintains, and publishes BSEE's inventory of key mission data metrics.5. Specialized experience is defined as demonstrated experience: 1) Experience using processes, tools or techniques for data analysis to produce business intelligence dashboards, reports or business metrics; 2) Experience using Oracle database technology, SQL, SQL Developer (or similar data access environment) to run reports, filter, sort, aggregate and create ad hoc queries for data; 3) Experience using Microsoft Office tools for data manipulation, presentation and analysis of data such as Excel, Access, and SharePoint; 4) Experience using data synchronization tools or data warehousing Extract, Transform and Load (ETL) tools.
