This is a day shift position, with a schedule of 3 shifts of 12 hours each.

Job Description

The Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for delivering quality care by ensuring adherence to the nursing care plan. The RN supervises Licensed Practical Nurses, Certified Nursing Assistants, and orientees, fostering a safe and efficient care environment.

Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive nursing assessments on all patients within 8 hours of admission to form individualized care plans.
• Collaborate with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams to identify teaching needs and establish health goals.
• Document all assessments, interventions, and patient responses accurately and promptly in the medical record.
• Participate in the patient rehabilitation program by utilizing the nursing process: assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care.
• Initiate discharge planning and patient education on the day of admission.
• Effectively communicate patient status changes with care providers to maintain continuity of care.
• Supervise and train ancillary nursing personnel, applying problem-solving techniques in decision-making.
• Ensure personal and environmental safety in compliance with hospital policies and procedures.
• Provide calm direction and support to patients, families, and team members.
• Identify and pursue opportunities for professional growth and development through continual education.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• BLS Certification required prior to the first shift.
• ACLS certification required prior to the first shift (CIRH only).
• Minimum of two years of bedside clinical experience is highly desired.

Assignment Duration

This is a 13-week contract position.
