IT Manager

Salary: $78,297.6 - 114,379.2 per year Requirements:

• We require a bachelors degree with at least 21 semester or 32 term credits in computer science, data processing, computer information systems, data communications, networking, systems analysis, computer programming, information assurance, IT project management, or mathematics.
• We require three years of professional experience comparable to an Information Technology Infrastructure, Programmer/Analyst, or IT Project Coordinator P11 position, or one year comparable to an IT Infrastructure, Programmer/Analyst, or IT Project Coordinator 12 role.
• We will also consider three years of experience as a computer programming supervisor or Information Technology Supervisor in place of the stated education and experience.
• We need knowledge of software development, configuration, troubleshooting, and the technologies used by our unit.
• We expect applicants to submit a cover letter, resume, and official transcript with the application.
• We require documented experience in leading or working in an application development or maintenance team.
• We require experience working directly with business leaders and managing client relationships.
• We require experience managing or leading projects using SUITE methodology or a similar approach.
• We require experience developing and implementing process improvements.
• We require the ability to provide proof of eligibility to work in the United States within three business days of employment.
• We require an official college or university transcript; unofficial transcripts are not accepted.

• We lead the Custom Support Unit that delivers development and support services to MDOT.
• We manage client relationships and ongoing maintenance activities for highly visible systems such as Public Transportation Management System and MiRail.
• We oversee the day-to-day work of multiple IT resources, including specialists, programmer/analysts, and consultants.
• We allocate project and task resources, help establish work priorities, and ensure assignments are completed efficiently and on time.
• We collaborate extensively with other managers, administrators, and internal and external resources to make sure the necessary IT services are provided.
• We provide guidance and assistance to the team as needed.
