Description

American Traveler is hiring a RN for a Med/Surg Flex Pool position requiring an active HI RN license and 2+ years of experience.

Details

• Hospital setting supporting Medical, Laulima (Surgical Acute), and Cardiovascular units as a Flex RN floating between medical and surgical units
• Adult Med/Surg and Step Down patient population
• Nurse to patient ratios: Medical unit 1:6 (days/eves), 1:8 (nights); Laulima unit 1:6; Cardiovascular unit 1:4
• Unit bed sizes: Medical - 77 beds; Laulima (Surgical Acute) - 18 beds; Cardiovascular Unit - 15 beds
• Uses Meditech EMR, Pyxis, wound vac, and chest tubes
• 12-hour day shifts (0645-1915)
• Scheduled 36 hours per week following the first week of orientation
• Floating required to Medical Unit, Laulima Unit, and occasionally Cardiovascular Unit

Requirements

• Active HI RN license required by start of assignment; candidates without a current HI license may apply upon acceptance of offer
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
• PALS, Procedural Sedation, TNCC, and ENPC certifications preferred
• 2-10 years of nursing experience required
• Documented proof of immunity required; medical and religious exemptions will not be accepted

Additional Information

• Float RN role covering various medical and surgical units based on facility needs
• Orientation time provided for each unit
• Professional nursing attire required, including clean scrubs
• All travelers must report to Employee Health 48-72 hours prior to the start of the assignment
• Travelers with a Monday start should plan to arrive in Hawaii by the preceding Thursday to report to Employee Health that Friday morning
• No guarantee of hours
