Key Responsibilities of the RN - PCU

• Provide specialized nursing care for PCU patients, focusing on cardiac conditions such as CHF, cardiomyopathy, and post-cardiac surgeries
• Utilize your expertise in ICU skills, Swanz and Impella experience, and advanced wound care
• Administer critical interventions including defibrillation, EKG interpretation, and managing complex drips
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure optimal patient outcomes
• Adapt to the transition of the unit to an ICU, managing fresh open-heart patients

Requirements of the RN - PCU

• Valid RN license and National Certification
• BLS, ACLS, NIHSS certifications
• Minimum 2 years of ICU or PCU experience, preferably CVICU
• Proficiency in general ICU skills and advanced knowledge of cardiac care
• High comfort level with technology such as EPIC EMR, Alaris IV pumps, and Omnicell med dispensing systems
