Nursing Supervisor (RN)- Cumberland Crossings - FT, Day/Evening

Job Description:Summary:Under the guidance of the Director of Nursing the incumbent of this position will oversee the nursing staff to provide the professional nursing care for the residents of the long-term care facility in accordance with the guidelines set down by the company and the government entities who oversee regulation of long-term care facilities.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:1. Coordinates and monitors the daily activities of the nursing services department staff2. Maintains consistent application of EverTrue policies; Participates in coaching/counseling of nursing service personnel as necessary3. Participates in the development, maintenance and updating of written policy and procedures that govern the day-to-day functions of the Nursing Services Department4. Performs administrative duties, including, but not limited to workforce performance evaluations, determining work assignments and scheduling, medical record documentation, completion of RAI/MDS, and other written and oral reports as required5. Participates in direct resident care when necessary6. Participates in Committee meetings as required7. Functions in the capacity of the Director of Nursing, Charge Nurse, and /or MDS Coordinator in his/her absence and as assigned8. Assists with in-service training of the nursing services, department personnel9. Participates in survey (inspections) made by authorized agencies10. Maintains a safe work environment; Practices good infection control procedures; Must demonstrate, upon request, the fundamentals of disaster preparedness as outlined in the Disaster Preparedness Plan11. Maintains the confidentiality of all pertinent resident and employee information to assure their privacy is protected12. Conducts rounds on neighborhood(s)/unit(s) to check on residents and staff to assure appropriate and safe care delivery; Identifies issues or concerns and intervenes when necessary13. Upon resident admission, ensures coordination and timely completion of the admission process14. Reports and supports investigative protocols as it relates to staff or resident incidents and/or accidents in accordance with state and federal regulations15. Complies with applicable federal, state and local laws, regulations and standardsQualifications, Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:To perform this position successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.Graduate of an accredited/approved school of nursingTwo+ years of related supervisory experience in a geriatric environmentMust be CPR certifiedMust hold a current state applicable RN nursing license; BSN preferredDemonstrates the initiative and the ability to work independently and prioritize tasksMust be able to follow direction written or oralMust have patience, tact, flexibility, a cheerful disposition, enthusiasm as well as the willingness to handle difficult situationsMust have legible handwriting, good telephone and filing skillsPhysical Requirements and Working Conditions:The physical activities and demands described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.
